Well, it’s a year on after I received the big gong. This time last year I was celebrating my award of 2014 Australian Professional Commercial Photographer of the Year.
It was a real honour to be awarded the 2014 Australian Professional Commercial Photographer of the Year title at the Australian Professional Photography Awards (APPA’s). The icing in the cake is that I was voted to receive this by some very esteemed senior judges, many of whom have had long and illustrious careers in professional photography.
The portfolio of images I entered into the awards were a mix of a corporate portrait and industrial warehouse sites. It was important for me to enter these two different types of images into the commercial category as they represent the majority of my work these days. To enter the commercial category, the images must have been commissioned by a client. So they are real working images not just work photographed for the awards.
The awards are just about here for this year and I’m hoping it will be another great year.
See below for my portfolio that won me the 2014 Australian Professional Commercial Photographer of the Year.
Each year the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) host awards for professional photographers to enter. Each state throughout Australia hold their own version and then there is the national awards, the Canon Australian Professional Photography Awards (APPA).
Last week NSW had it’s time to shine with the 2012 AIPP NSW Epson Professional Photography Awards. Whilst many photographers shoot specific work aimed at entering the awards, all my entries were from my everyday work.
This year I entered eight prints into three categories – Family, Portrait & Wedding. Well, I am thrilled to announce that I was awarded five silver awards for my prints! It is a great honour not only to have my work judged by some of the states best photographers, but also to have been recognised and awarded for my work.
The national awards will held in May, which I plan to enter some of my winning images, so I plan to share the images after that!
Thank you to my wonderful clients for your support and for making my job an absolute pleasure every single day.
